Outpatient Opioid Addiction Treatment in Salem, NH

At Middlesex Recovery Salem, we offer evidence-based medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help individuals overcome opioid use disorder (OUD). Our FDA-approved medications work by reducing cravings, minimizing withdrawal symptoms, and preventing relapse, allowing patients to focus on long-term recovery.

Our FDA-Approved Medications for Opioid Addiction Treatment:
    • Suboxone (Buprenorphine/Naloxone) –Suboxone is a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone designed to treat opioid dependence. Taken as a pill or sublingual film, it binds to opioid receptors without fully activating them, helping to reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms while lowering the risk of misuse.
    • Sublocade (Extended-Release Buprenorphine Injection) – Sublocade is a once-monthly injectable form of buprenorphine that provides continuous opioid receptor activation at a controlled level. It blocks other opioids from attaching to receptors, preventing euphoria and reducing cravings.
    • Vivitrol (Naltrexone Injection for Opioid & Alcohol Addiction) – Vivitrol is a non-addictive opioid antagonist administered as a once-monthly injection. It helps patients by blocking opioid receptors, preventing relapse, and significantly reducing cravings for both opioids and alcohol.
    • Brixadi (Weekly or Monthly Buprenorphine Injection) – Brixadi is an extended-release injectable buprenorphine, offering flexible dosing options (weekly or monthly). Unlike Sublocade, it is available in smaller injection volumes and multiple administration sites. This medication must be administered by a healthcare professional and provides continuous relief from cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Our providers help determine the best medication for your individual needs, ensuring a safe and effective recovery process.

I never write reviews, but my experience today prompted me to share.

My psychiatrist for the last 7 years has just recently retired, so I made an appointment with Middlesex Recovery's Salem, NH office. I've been very stable in my recovery for a long time, so I wasn't sure of what to expect. Thankfully, I was extremely happy upon leaving my first appointment.

The office assistant was so friendly and welcoming from the very moment I walked in. I really wish I could remember her name, but she has an upbeat personality and she speaks to you as if she's known you forever. My appointment was with Christopher G. Carter, MS, PA-C and even though I've only met with him once, I can tell that he's hands down, phenomenal. He's really personable and made me feel like I could talk to him about literally anything. It's hard to explain, but he's just one of those people who have a really great vibe. He also has an awesome sense of humor—which I think is beneficial to have for someone in his profession.

I went into my appointment today not knowing what to expect and also a little upset with having to switch providers, but I left with such a positive outlook. Whether you've been sober for 10 years, or 10 days, the people working at Middlesex Recovery in Salem, NH truly care and are there to help people and it really shows.
